PLECK lesson 62 · suggested week 13, day 2

A simple wrap and portion plan

Objective. A simple wrap and portion plan:apply the stated method to a concrete case, produce the requested evidence, and justify safe, private, and accessible choices.

About 25–50 minutes. The due date is chosen by a parent.

Split across sittings as needed;no timer or required date.Adult approval remains required even for independent work.

Materials: paper, pencil, optional calculator.

A wrap combines ready-to-eat fillings with a suitable wrapper. For two paper or optional real wraps, use 2 approved tortillas, 1/2 cup ready-to-eat beans, and 1/2 cup prepared vegetables. Divide fillings evenly, leave room at edges, and fold without overfilling. Wrapper and filling allergens must be reviewed. Serve promptly or refrigerate; do not pack a perishable wrap warm for later. Safety and boundaries: Every real preparation requires adult-approved ingredients and direct supervision. Adult manages heat/sharp tools; paper ingredients and inactive appliances are complete alternatives. No tasting requirement. Family-only evidence;use fictional details,no faces or private records. No purchases are required.

Worked example

Unscored model for discussion;use the assignment case for your own work.

Each of the two wraps receives 1/4 cup beans and 1/4 cup vegetables before folding.

A simple wrap and portion plan — evidence and reflection

  1. 1. Calculate fillings for four wraps and for one wrap.
  2. 2. Draw a folding sequence with a clear filling boundary.
  3. 3. Prepare paper props or an adult-approved wrap, then note one practical improvement.
  4. 4. Create a cold-transport note for the fictional wrap.
  5. 5. Spiral review — A ready-to-eat salad was touched by raw-meat tongs. Write the response and prevention. Spiral review.

Acceptance checks

An adult supervises. This stays in the family. Spending is not required.

For any optional food, adult verifies all ingredients and established allergy needs;avoid cross-contact,no tolerance tests, and use paper food if uncertain. For clothing/cleaning,adult checks sensitivities and labels;no chemical mixing.

Every real preparation requires adult-approved ingredients and direct supervision. Adult manages heat/sharp tools; paper ingredients and inactive appliances are complete alternatives. No tasting requirement.

Complete the entire task using paper diagrams, fictional data,empty/inactive tools, and parent-observed explanation.

  • No unsupervised heat,sharp tools,cleaners,or appliances.
  • No raw-meat handling,unsafe food tasting,chemical mixing,flame/smoke experiments,or electrical repair.
  • No real childcare/medical/intimate care,financial transactions,credentials,private records,or public posting.

If this is still shaky. Use this lesson’s worked model to make a three-box process card.Label the goal, one safety/constraint check, and the evidence you would show.Explain it to a parent before trying the main task again.

Optional extra. Change one fictional constraint in this lesson, such as available time, access, ingredient restriction,or pretend cost.Revise one artifact and show what must change and what safety/privacy rule stays fixed.
