PLECK lesson 164 · suggested week 33, day 4

Digital consumer and career portfolio

Objective. Digital consumer and career portfolio:apply the stated method to a concrete case, produce the requested evidence, and justify safe, private, and accessible choices.

About 35–75 minutes. The due date is chosen by a parent.

Split across sittings as needed;no timer or required date.Adult approval remains required even for independent work.

Materials: paper, pencil, optional calculator.

Integrate safe online decisions, truthful skill evidence, and a future-learning plan. Use only invented messages, offers, and personal profiles. Keep the portfolio family-only; no public profile, application, subscription, or account changes occur. The goal is to explain how to evaluate information and communicate limits, not to choose a permanent career or purchase a service. Safety and boundaries: Fictional messages, offers, and profiles only. No passwords, OTPs, account screenshots, clicking suspicious links, public posting, applications, selling, customer contact, purchases, or employer contact. Family-only evidence;use fictional details,no faces or private records. No purchases are required.

Worked example

Unscored model for discussion;use the assignment case for your own work.

A portfolio includes an annotated scam message, a three-month offer comparison, and a truthful simulated-project skill statement.

Digital consumer and career portfolio — evidence and reflection

  1. 1. Analyze a new invented urgent-payment message and write a no-click verification plan.
  2. 2. Compare two invented recurring offers with complete 3-month costs and assumptions.
  3. 3. Create a two-career skill-evidence map using course artifacts without wage/credential guesses.
  4. 4. Write a private next-learning plan with no enrollment, contact, or purchase action.
  5. 5. Spiral review — List two button-sample hazards and their controls. Spiral review.

Acceptance checks

An adult supervises. This stays in the family. Spending is a simulation, not real money.

For any optional food, adult verifies all ingredients and established allergy needs;avoid cross-contact,no tolerance tests, and use paper food if uncertain. For clothing/cleaning,adult checks sensitivities and labels;no chemical mixing.

Fictional messages, offers, and profiles only. No passwords, OTPs, account screenshots, clicking suspicious links, public posting, applications, selling, customer contact, purchases, or employer contact.

Complete the entire task using paper diagrams, fictional data,empty/inactive tools, and parent-observed explanation.

  • No unsupervised heat,sharp tools,cleaners,or appliances.
  • No raw-meat handling,unsafe food tasting,chemical mixing,flame/smoke experiments,or electrical repair.
  • No real childcare/medical/intimate care,financial transactions,credentials,private records,or public posting.

If this is still shaky. Use this lesson’s worked model to make a three-box process card.Label the goal, one safety/constraint check, and the evidence you would show.Explain it to a parent before trying the main task again.

Optional extra. Change one fictional constraint in this lesson, such as available time, access, ingredient restriction,or pretend cost.Revise one artifact and show what must change and what safety/privacy rule stays fixed.
