Week 34:practical learning check

Objective. Week 34:practical learning check:apply the stated method to a concrete case, produce the requested evidence, and justify safe, private, and accessible choices.

About 25–50 minutes. The due date is chosen by a parent.

Split across sittings as needed;no timer or required date.Adult approval remains required even for independent work.

Materials: paper, pencil, optional calculator, drawn models.

This is an untimed learning check, not a scheduled due date or professional test. Use fictional records and paper models. Read every task, show your reasoning, and label units or money. A parent may provide access supports, but note any decision-making hints. Do not perform a household hazard to answer a question. Reviewed original probes may recur intentionally to check independent retrieval. Fictional capstone case:four people share a 90-minute meal-and-home-reset event. One needs a seated workspace and one avoids milk; an adult must verify ingredients. The paper budget is$60:reserve$10 for savings, up to$20 for food, $8 for care supplies, $12 for transport, and the rest as buffer. Use paper tools/food by default; no purchases, real guests, or actual care are required. Safety and boundaries: All capstone evidence can be paper/simulation. Adult approval/direct supervision for any optional food, heat, sharp-tool, cleaning, or sewing activity. No real care subjects, transactions, public posting, or private household information. Family-only evidence;use fictional details,no faces or private records. No purchases are required.

Worked example

Unscored model for discussion;use the assignment case for your own work.

Unscored checking routine:identify the constraint, make a labeled response, and verify that it meets the question. A request for help with an unsafe or uncertain step is appropriate; never hide a safety doubt.

Week 34:practical learning check — evidence and reflection

  1. 1. Create a case brief listing people, needs, time, money, and adult role.
  2. 2. Submit a four-person menu and full quantity/yield table.
  3. 3. Build the full$60 category plan from the case and identify its initial buffer.
  4. 4. Create a 90-minute timeline with setup, preparation, service, care task, cleanup, and buffer.
  5. 5. In the shared capstone case, reconcile the original 60 budget and its buffer.
  6. 6. Transport rises by 5 without new income. What happens to the original buffer if other allocations stay fixed?

Acceptance checks

An adult supervises. This stays in the family. Spending is a simulation, not real money.

For any optional food, adult verifies all ingredients and established allergy needs;avoid cross-contact,no tolerance tests, and use paper food if uncertain. For clothing/cleaning,adult checks sensitivities and labels;no chemical mixing.

All capstone evidence can be paper/simulation. Adult approval/direct supervision for any optional food, heat, sharp-tool, cleaning, or sewing activity. No real care subjects, transactions, public posting, or private household information.

Complete the entire task using paper diagrams, fictional data,empty/inactive tools, and parent-observed explanation.

  • No unsupervised heat,sharp tools,cleaners,or appliances.
  • No raw-meat handling,unsafe food tasting,chemical mixing,flame/smoke experiments,or electrical repair.
  • No real childcare/medical/intimate care,financial transactions,credentials,private records,or public posting.

If this is still shaky. Use this lesson’s worked model to make a three-box process card.Label the goal, one safety/constraint check, and the evidence you would show.Explain it to a parent before trying the main task again.

Optional extra. Change one fictional constraint in this lesson, such as available time, access, ingredient restriction,or pretend cost.Revise one artifact and show what must change and what safety/privacy rule stays fixed.
