Independent final life-skills transfer project

Objective. Independent final life-skills transfer project:apply the stated method to a concrete case, produce the requested evidence, and justify safe, private, and accessible choices.

About 35–75 minutes. The due date is chosen by a parent.

Split across sittings as needed;no timer or required date.Adult approval remains required even for independent work.

Materials: paper, pencil, optional calculator, paper ingredient/garment/tool outlines.

New independent fictional case:plan a 60-minute no-purchase lunch-and-reset rehearsal for three fictional people, with one seated/limited-lifting role and one wheat-avoidance requirement. An adult must verify food labels; paper ingredients are the default. Available pretend money is$75; reserve$15 savings, $10 transport, $12 care, and at most$20 food. The rest is buffer. No real food, guest, care recipient, account, or purchase is required. Work independently on the decisions, using the course models and your own reasoning. A parent may read directions or scribe, but must not supply the plan. Record any mathematical or planning hints. Any physical action still needs adult approval; the whole final is valid as paper simulation. Split across sittings as needed. Safety and boundaries: All capstone evidence can be paper/simulation. Adult approval/direct supervision for any optional food, heat, sharp-tool, cleaning, or sewing activity. No real care subjects, transactions, public posting, or private household information. Adult directly supervises all food work and manages heat/sharp tools. Check all ingredients and established allergy plans. No raw-meat handling, tolerance tests, tasting uncertain food, or deliberate unsafe holding. Adult directly supervises needles, scissors, pins, appliances, and any products; count sharps before/after. No chemical mixing, pod opening, irons, machines, or real garment repair is required. Keep small parts from children/pets. Fictional people or paper characters only. No real child/older adult recording, sole supervision, feeding, medicine, bathing, lifting, transport, diagnosis, or intimate care. A responsible adult retains all real caregiving duties. Fictional messages, offers, and profiles only. No passwords, OTPs, account screenshots, clicking suspicious links, public posting, applications, selling, customer contact, purchases, or employer contact. Family-only evidence;use fictional details,no faces or private records. No purchases are required.

Worked example

Unscored model for discussion;use the assignment case for your own work.

Unscored method reminder:state a constraint, compare options, make a labeled artifact, and check it against the constraint. For this final, use the new case numbers rather than copying an old budget.

Independent final life-skills transfer project — evidence and reflection

  1. 1. Create the full 75 budget using the stated maximum food allocation. Find initial buffer. Then raise transport by 7 with no new income and recalculate.
  2. 2. Scale this paper four-portion bowl for three:2 cups safely cooked/cooled rice, 1 cup ready-to-eat beans, 1 cup prepared vegetables. List quantities, allergen review, and storage controls. Add invented prices totaling no more than 20.
  3. 3. Make a 60-minute timeline with setup, meal rehearsal, care task, cleanup, and buffer. Assign accessible roles and an adult stop rule.
  4. 4. Fictional garment label:hand wash cold, dry flat, no bleach; loose two-hole button. Submit care decisions and a paper button/stitch repair model with safety record.
  5. 5. Draw a generic reset area with two hazards and adult-managed fixes. Write a respectful handoff that declines sole childcare and states the responsible adult role.
  6. 6. Analyze this invented message:“Send your one-time code now or lose your meal-service account.”Write a no-click response plan, then audit the portfolio for private data and name two beginner skills it demonstrates without claiming certification.

Acceptance checks

An adult supervises. This stays in the family. Spending is a simulation, not real money.

For any optional food, adult verifies all ingredients and established allergy needs;avoid cross-contact,no tolerance tests, and use paper food if uncertain. For clothing/cleaning,adult checks sensitivities and labels;no chemical mixing.

All capstone evidence can be paper/simulation. Adult approval/direct supervision for any optional food, heat, sharp-tool, cleaning, or sewing activity. No real care subjects, transactions, public posting, or private household information. Adult directly supervises all food work and manages heat/sharp tools. Check all ingredients and established allergy plans. No raw-meat handling, tolerance tests, tasting uncertain food, or deliberate unsafe holding. Adult directly supervises needles, scissors, pins, appliances, and any products; count sharps before/after. No chemical mixing, pod opening, irons, machines, or real garment repair is required. Keep small parts from children/pets. Fictional people or paper characters only. No real child/older adult recording, sole supervision, feeding, medicine, bathing, lifting, transport, diagnosis, or intimate care. A responsible adult retains all real caregiving duties. Fictional messages, offers, and profiles only. No passwords, OTPs, account screenshots, clicking suspicious links, public posting, applications, selling, customer contact, purchases, or employer contact.

Complete the entire task using paper diagrams, fictional data,empty/inactive tools, and parent-observed explanation.

  • No unsupervised heat,sharp tools,cleaners,or appliances.
  • No raw-meat handling,unsafe food tasting,chemical mixing,flame/smoke experiments,or electrical repair.
  • No real childcare/medical/intimate care,financial transactions,credentials,private records,or public posting.

If this is still shaky. Use this lesson’s worked model to make a three-box process card.Label the goal, one safety/constraint check, and the evidence you would show.Explain it to a parent before trying the main task again.

Optional extra. Change one fictional constraint in this lesson, such as available time, access, ingredient restriction,or pretend cost.Revise one artifact and show what must change and what safety/privacy rule stays fixed.
